If you're an engineer....

....sorry engineers, I couldn't resist! =P Something a coworker (an engineer, by the way) sent me.

Dilbert and the Knack

Disclaimer: I do not mean any offense by this video (by the contrary, I disagree with the connotation).  But it does give a good laugh.

Enjoy!

Quite the trend....

...taken from Vicky, Jeff, and a whole slue of people who have relatively similar surveys.

THREE THINGS THAT SCARE ME:
01 | Snakes/reptiles.
02 | What Jeff said: "Spiders. I hate how they crawl, and how some of them are venomous, and how they're all over the place, and how some of them are hairy, and how... I just hate them. Agh gross." Plus, how they sound when you catch/squish them. Ewwww.
03 | Blood gushing out of a living being (not paper cuts or common injuries, but--LARGE amounts of blood spewing out of somewhere)

----------------------------------------------------
"THREE" PEOPLE WHO MAKE ME LAUGH:
01 | TYC and Will
02 | Jenn Shih and Hannah
03 | Tony and Daniel (Lee)
03.1 | Lawrence and Alfred
03.2 | Many others....how can a list like this fit them all!?!?
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I LOVE:
01 | PANDAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like this and this and....
02 | Taking pictures and editing them
03 | Spending time with others! Laughing/smiling (genuinely)!
---------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I HATE:
01 | Fast drivers who do not blink their signal and cut you off.  How much extra effort does it take to push the lever??????
02 | Betrayal of others
03 | Waiting in verrrrry long lines...outside....in the extreme heat/humidity/sun....sweaty & thirsty...with no protection (shade or hat).  Yuck.
---------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND:
01 | Politics.
02 | Why are some desks in classrooms (especially college) sooooo small? College students are adults and therefore adult-sized....how can desks be so small that you can't even put your notebook/textbook/laptop down without having part of it hanging off the edge of the desk? How much of an investment would it be just to make the desks/chairs in classrooms slightly better for students?
03 | EECS code =P
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS ON MY DESK:
01 | At home: desktop, laptop, journal
02 | At work: desktop, lab notes, Post-its
03 | n/a
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I'M DOING RIGHT NOW:
01 | Filling out this survey
02 | Listening to music
03 | Crossing my legs
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I WANT TO DO BEFORE I DIE:
01 | Help my dad (and extended family) finally understand the importance of the Gospel and live it in a transformed life (prayers would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!)
02 |
Visit a foreign country/continent (China/Asia at the top of my list)
03 | Participate some sort of marathon/"-a-thon" event...without getting/having to worry about ANY form of allergies
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I CAN DO:
01 | Test HIV, Hepatitis, and WNV...yeah.  =P
02 | Piano
03 | Arm blocks
------------------------------------------
THREE WAYS TO DESCRIBE MY PERSONALITY:
01 | Timid tomboy
02 | Impulsive
03 | Nerdy
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I CAN'T DO (yet!):
01 | Sit very long.  I get really restless, needing to get up and stretch, and/or move around if it's too long of a session, or if space is really cramped.
02 | Ride a motor bike (the sporty ones....not those extremely loud Harley's)
03 | Get up too fast from sitting---my bad ankle gives out if I don't get up properly
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I THINK YOU SHOULD LISTEN TO:
01 | Our hearts.
02 | "I Will Sing of Your Love (Forever)"
03 | "Jesus I My Cross Have Taken"
---------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I SAY THE MOST:
01 | Sounds good.
02 | What?
03 | Crap.
----------------------------------------------------
THREE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FOODS:
01 | Mom's cooking!
02 | Spinach, mushrooms, cheese, with some onions/onion flavor....
03 | Sushi!

Well, I like to eat lots of different foods....I can't possibly fit them all here!
----------------------------------------------------
THREE THINGS I'D LIKE TO LEARN:
01 | Finish learning martial arts
02 | Auto-racing
03 | Speak better Cantonese (my birth dialect)....right now my Mandarin's better than Canto
----------------------------------------------------
THREE BEVERAGES I DRINK REGULARLY:
01 | Water
02 | Soymilk
03 | This Nestle chocolcate mix at work
----------------------------------------------------
THREE SHOWS YOU WATCHED WHEN YOU WERE A KID:
01 | Batman - The Animated Series / Batman Beyond
02 | Spiderman
03 | X-Men....all Marvel comics, yay! ^_^

----------------------------------------------------
THREE SMELLS I RECOMMEND:
01 | (Kirkland?) Laundry detergent smell.  THE best laundry detergent smell ever--except that I don't use it.  It's so comforting...
02 | Broiling/roasting chicken and/or vegetables and/or fish in the oven....it's what I call a "holiday" or "Christmas" smell
03 | Fresh air RIGHT AFTER it rains, or when it's really foggy
----------------------------------------------------
THREE NAMES FOR MY CHILDREN COULD BE:
01 | Hm...haven't thought too far ahead yet...though they will have their additional Asian names too!
02 | ...
03 | ...
----------------------------------------------------
THREE ACTORS/ACTRESSES I LIKE (mm....I don't really keep up with the celebrity world, so...):
01 | Reese Witherspoon
02 | Ming Dao =P
03 | Angelina Jolie
-----------------------------------------------------
THREE ARTISTS I LIKE:
01 | Uh....I don't have a specific artist.  I like whatever photography/artwork that is able to capture my eye and cause to wonder about it on the first glance.
02 | If musical artists, same thing---but more so of anything that has good lyrics and a good beat.
03 | ...
------------------------------------------------------
THREE CANDIES I CRAVE LIKE:
01 | Any mint chocolate candies
02 | Milk chocolcate candies
03 | Starburst
----------------------------------------------------
THREE MOVIES I WOULD SUGGEST:
01 | The Incredibles!

02 | A Walk to Remember
03 | Chasing Liberty

I tag anyone who may like to complete this survey.

On another note, almost a year has passed by since graduating.....how time flies!

All right, that's it for now.

Time Warp??

The scariest thing at work today.....

After speaking with my group members about our plans for the day, I went to lab to start the projects for the day, which I predicted shouldn't take any longer than 2 hours to set-up--in time for lunch, when completed.  It was ~9:45am the latest.

There were no clocks in that room.

When I came out and checked the time, clocks read: 1:30pm...

WT____???!!???!  How could that be?????????

At first, I thought the clock I checked when I got out was wrong, so I asked others in the hallway for the time and checked other clocks, to make sure I wasn't seeing things.  Nope.  It definitely was 1:30 pm.....then 1:40, after my plight of confusion.

SOMEHOW......I worked thru the morning, lunch, etc., without feeling any dramatic time progression, and without feeling hungry at all---even though the entire time was spent on my feet.

Creepy.....................
